Walking into the showroom armed with the current month's scheme document (dealers get it as a PDF from the OEM on the 1st of every month) shifts the negotiation entirely in your favour.
Exchange bonuses have become the single biggest lever. A 50-basis-point difference on a ₹8 lakh 5-year car loan is roughly ₹12,000 over the loan tenure. Ask the dealer's finance manager to match or beat the best rate you have in hand.
Service package pre-booking is another quiet win. Buying a 3-year or 4-year prepaid maintenance package at delivery locks in labour and part prices at today's rates, which — given service cost inflation of 6–10% annually — saves meaningful money over ownership.
